I have been very busy with my camera the last few days. Everything from Prom shots to wedding detail shots and I am loving it

I took this (and a lot of others) yesterday at a wedding at the Fraser River Lodge out in Agassiz, BC. The colour scheme was gorgeous – green, brown and white. The wedding photographers were out in the middle of the afternoon doing their shots of the wedding party before the ceremony – it looked like a lot of hard work out in the sun! The bride and wedding party had lovely parasols though. I am sure the pros were sweating in their black clothes (can’t have a reflection off the clothes – lol).

The lodge had changed their wedding area around and moved it onto the lawn near the river rather than on the deck. I was there to take some photos of the new location.

Actually not really but it sure does look like it. We went over to a friend’s place for a party Friday night and this is the stove in her kitchen. Isn’t is gorgeous? It was hard to get a good photo of it because the huge island was right in front of it and I wasn’t about to clear all the food and drinks off to climb up there to take a shot (thought about it though!!).

The whole house is spectacular. Set up high in the mountains on 3.5 acres with no neighbours in sight. Beautiful mountain views from every window and both decks. Stunning! Personally I think she is very brave for living up there alone and I told her so.

The kitchen was spectacular and it is quite funny that she doesn’t really cook. She jokes about eating Kraft Dinner a lot and other friends confirm that this is true :

This was not the girl I was there to take photos for but the entire photo shoot went a little bit off kilter when I realized that ALL of the kids on the bus thought I was going to take photos of them. What?? I did take some of a few couples and this was one couple I thought was so cute.

This is not the best pose of them – the rest of the shots will follow. I really liked the way she is looking at him here. I had just told him to put his hand on her hip and he game me this smirk while she smiled at him. Click = cute photo that I really like as it shows how she feels about him.

One of the great things about where we live is the lack of traffic. All the kids around here ride their bikes around and I don’t really worry (well only a little). Tonight after we ate dinner I went outside to figure out my photo of the day and saw a whole pack of neighbourhood kids out riding their bikes.

I tried to take the photos of a few others but they would have nothing to do with it. This one is used to the camera – lol!! Tomorrow will be prom photos and I guarantee my photo of the day will have a lot of beautiful, young and well dressed ladies in it

Nothing spectacular for my photo of the day but that has pretty much been the norm since I have decided to capture everyday stuff rather than focus on landscapes and flowers

Today was SO busy and did not allow a lot of time for photo taking. The kids and I had a meeting about camp last night on the other side of town and they asked if we could go to the library after the meeting.

Of course I am not going to say “no” to a trip to the library! We even got them signed up in the summer reading program and we each left with a stack of books.

Of course the duck pond is right outside the library so we *had* to take a walk around. The entire pond is now covered with lily pads which is quite the change from a few months ago when it was covered in ice!

I liked the way the clouds and sky are reflected in the water so voila this becomes my photo of the day. God forbid I post another duck photo although the ducklings were too cute!

I did have an ulterior motive for walking around the pond though and found some gorgeous lighting and backdrops for photos. I am doing prom shots tomorrow and IF it doesn’t pour rain like it is supposed to (drat) I have some good locations to shoot at.

We have played many rounds of Boggle the last few nights. I am the undefeated champ in the house but I suppose it is not fair as I do play the game online as well as Scrabble and other word games.

My eight year old is a pretty good player too and she can crank out some five and six letter words. Totally impressive to me and it warms my heart to know that someone else around here likes word games.

It was actually her idea to play again tonight. The funny thing is that the kids run to dictionary.com to check out words they are unsure of so they are learning new words and improving their spelling.

Brilliant way to keep their minds active during the summer break from school I think

My dad (and mom) stopped by to visit for a couple of hours this afternoon. It was good to see them and it was really good to see mom get out of the house for a few hours even though she is still really tired from her last treatment.

I asked dad if I could snap a quick shot of him before he left and he agreed. Nothing fancy here – I just sat him in a chair by the window and took a few shots. I thought about hanging my black backdrop and getting a reflector out but they wanted to get going so I knew a quick snapshot would be all I could get.

I debated between this shot and the one of him and his dog (see below). I do like the one of him and his Ginger but he is moving and blurry even though I do like the emotion it captures and the interaction with his “baby”.

I took this photo tonight right before our family movie night started. I have actually just sat through the entire Paul Blart Mall Cop movie – lol. Most days I would just walk far, far away from that sort of cheesy show but family movie night means I have to stay put and watch it. The kids got a kick out of it but as my boyfriend said it was a kiddie Die Hard

The kiddos are heading off to bed now so this is intermission to get my photo uploaded for the day. We are going to watch the International next which has to be better than Paul Blart (hopefully).

Cheesy good pizza for dinner tonight. The kids sure like this stuff but I usually pass on it for something healthier. Tonight my dinner was sashimi – much tastier to me

I briefly thought about cleaning off the cutter before taking this shot but I figured it looked more authentic this way.

I spent the early morning with my daughter’s class helping them finish up their research projects before the end of the school year.

My daughter was finished her project but wanted to hang out with me so the teacher told her to draw something.

This is the end result. I look pretty good here – no wrinkes!! She even drew the streaks in my hair. Also included is my dimple and the necklace I usually wear. A good reminder that I need to get a new chain as it broke a while back and I haven’t replaced it yet.

I snapped this shot at work today before I hung it on my office wall. The black was not added in photoshop – I had a sheet of posterboard in the office so I put it on the ground and then shot from above.
